The original traditional boat festival, Les Fêtes Maritimes de Douarnenez, turns 40 next year when it returns from 23-26 July. As part of the celebrations, the festival team is compiling a commemorative book of memories from participants over the years – and they want to hear from you!
“In 2026, the Fêtes Maritimes de Douarnenez maritime festival will celebrate its 40th anniversary. A celebration we want to share with you, sailors, musicians, volunteers, visitors, fans …. so many of you from across the Channel and beyond. 40 years of adventures, which we want to gather in a book of testimonies.
How did you hear about us? What made you want to join us? We want to hear about your best, funniest stories, images, encounters, discoveries, emotions and surprises good or bad…..
So email us, write to us, personally or on behalf of a friend sadly gone or too shy to do it themselves. Contributions in French, English, Cornish or any other known language are welcome, whether a few words, a photo, a drawing…
Douarnenez needs you (next summer) and your lasting memories (now).
